I actally was doing signature banners and wallpapers before, then joined dA and made PIRl and it helps you a lot having the basic knowlage for making the pictures look good afterwards ^^
Ha, I've tried doing PIRL, but I failed hard.
Either I just didn't know how, or i'm only good at half the equation.
I actually only started making wallpapers recently. First one I ever made I did a month from yesterday.
It can be tricky at first, my first time I just shaded random spots and just was very luck it turned out not to be that bad ^^ I think the hardest thing in the beginning is just to keep it up until you got enough experience and improve,so it's worth a try, it's not that hard to learn doing PIRL's
