[Wallpaper] Her Wings by Meteor-Venture [Wallpaper] Her Wings by Meteor-Venture
EDIT: There's a better looking, updated version of this wallpaper Here

----

I created this one while I made this one: [link]
I was making the stripes in the other picture but I massed them up and got the ones in this picture.
I ended of having to remake them, but in retrospect they turned out even better, and I got to make this wallpaper as well.

I actually prefer this one over the other, quite a bit. The darker silhouette of the 2.0 version doesn't really match Twi's carefree expression as much as this one, and the "wings" in this one are more feather-shaped, whereas in the other they kinda resemble hooks/claws.

The darker look was supposed to contrast her expression so to create a calming environment.
I would say neither one has "wings" the resemble anything close to feathers, especially not this one (just look at the pink ones, what kinda shape is that?), but that's because they weren't supposed to, they were supposed to look like wings as a whole. (It's not that either one looks more like wings than the other, they just look like different kinds of wings.
Why I do prefer the 2.0 version though isn't really on the second versions part though, it's solely the fact that this one looks so obnoxiously shinny. When I did this one, the light that I created wasn't so much highlights or flares like I originally intended, but rather they just ended up as an overly glossy looking glare or fog. (In short, I think it's too bright with not the right amount amount of color contrast to balance it out, and the colors look dull.)
I will say though, that I don't like the 2nd version entirely, because while trying to avoid using too much light, I feel it's missing something, and it's a bit boring.

I do really appreciate you your comment, and I hope mine wasn't too long and/or descriptive.
Thanks.

Hey, I completely get wanting to defend your work back against criticism. Not saying this one's necessarily better, but I just prefer it. Feel free to have your own preferences. Regardless, keep makin' rad wallpapers. I've gotta be getting close to like 5000 in rotation at this point.

Would it be possible to get a version of this without the overlay'd light beams? And mayhaps drop the opacity on the background picture? I really think that would make this better.. It's just too busy at the moment.

Certainly.
It took me while to get done, since I didn't have the PSD file, and didn't remember how I did the wings, but I managed.
